Church Our Lady of the Assumption of La Palma
It all began there in 1,608, when the Spanish Crown, donated two images: The Virgin of the Assumption for Chaguaní and San Roque for La Palma. In their transfer they bartered and the Virgin came to La Palma and San Roque to Chaguaní. The inhabitants of Chaguaní decided to claim the image of their patron and the Palmeros did not oppose, but when they tried to lower the Virgin of the place where it had been placed, it became so heavy that it was impossible to move it.
On the other hand, each year the fifteenth of August is celebrated this festivity, with the citizens and neighbours, Postume to Eucaristicas celebrations programmed by the parish.
The inhabitants of the region believed that it was a miracle and decided to keep it, Chaguaní insisted on the delivery of the image and filing lawsuit to the palm to the Spanish authorities, which lasted seven years at the end of which the Spanish Crown , determined through a Real Cedula, leaving the Virgin of the Assumption in La Palma and San Roque in Chaguaní, since then, the Virgin is venerated every seven years, is lowered from the niche to advance a procession through the main streets of the town , celebration that becomes the return of the children of La Palma.
